Caterpillar + Chain Today I have tried my hand at the Caterpillar binding, used in conjunction with a multi-needle chain stitch binding. This is the first time I have tried the caterpillar binding and this book also has the distinction of being the first book made in my new studio (which is one of the reasons that I slowed my blog-book-production, since moving into the new studio has been a gradual process and rather disruptive to my work flow).

Congratulations on reaching book 276, and on the new studio! I can see how that might have disrupted things a bit. ; ]
thank you, Cathryn!
How fun! I have been wanting to try a caterpillar book. What did you think of the process? And, congrats on your new studio :)
Thanks AES! The caterpillar thing is interesting. I found it rather fun to do, once I figured it out and I can see how it could be fun to incorporate it into a binding. Although, I think the cover attachment is weak and has to be accommodated through other means.
I have so struggled with that binding! What tutorial/instructions did you use?
It is certainly a tricky one. I used Keith Smith's instructions.
