It all starts this weekend
I am getting ready for another Paper and Book Intensive. I'll be on my way, traveling to Michigan this weekend and then I'll spend the following ten days doing some intensive paper and book learning! There is, as always, a very impressive cast of instructors this year. I'll be taking classes with Adam Larsson, Paula Jull, and Yasmeen Khan. It's all happening at Ox-Bow near Saugatuck. I'll post some updates over the next couple weeks, stay tuned!

Paper and Book Intensive starts tomorrow
Once again, I'm attending Paper and Book Intensive and it starts tomorrow! It starts early. I have to leave home around 4am to get myself to Michigan on time since the event is being hosted at Ox Bow again this year. I'll be taking classes from Shanna Leino, Steve Pittelkow, and Larry Yerkes. More details to follow over the next couple weeks!

Another book for PBI
Each year at PBI, there is an auction to raise money for scholarships. I've made a journal for the auction, specifically an OxBow-theme journal, since that's where PBI is being hosted this year.

The last time I went to OxBow, I brought home a booklet about the college which included some photos of the campus. I tore the photos from the booklet and tore a few strips from a Michigan map showing the Saugatuck region, and pieced them together on the covers. The endpapers are hand-marbled by me, and there is a folder pocket sewn into the textblock, made from the OxBow booklet as well. Also includes the bookmark, made from an OxBow information card.

PBI and Ox Bow
Yesterday, I arrived in Michigan to attend Paper and Book Intensive at Ox Bow. This is a 10 day program with about 70 other book and paper people. Each participant takes three different "intense" classes. I have the great fortune of having William Drendel, Gabrielle Fox, and Gary Frost instructing my three sessions. A description of the classes is available here on the PBI website. Ox Bow School of the Arts is located near Saugagtuck and just beside an ox bow lagoon. This afternoon, I finally found some other Canadians on campus!
